Job Summary:

We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve. To help them achieve this you will need to be flexible, as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potential sleep ins.   • To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
  • To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
  • To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.
  • To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.

  • Diploma in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one.
  • Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues an advantage.

  • The passion to work with vulnerable adults.
  • The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.

Full time- 40hrs

Recruitment Process:

Step1: Brief 10 minute screening call involving fact-finding questions about your understanding of care, your personal attributes and qualities and any prior experience. (Call done with Recruitment Team)
Step 2: If successful, 2nd interview to be arranged with the Service with application and DBS application forms sent to and to be completed by candidate. (Electronically fillable or by hand).
Step 3: If 2nd interview is successful, candidate is then provisionally offered the role, depending on receipt of satisfactory references and DBS certificate.  The candidate will receive a letter to that effect, along with some additional forms to complete and return, through the post.
Step 4: The Resourcing Coordinator, supporting that particular Service, will apply for all necessary references and the DBS certificate.
Step 5: Once we have the necessary references and DBS back, the Service will verify that they are satisfactory and a mutually convenient start date will be arranged.
Step 6: A start date has been arranged, so the Candidate will now be sent their final offer letter and Contracts of Employment to sign and return to the Recruitment Department, along with any other forms or information still not returned.
Step 7: Candidate will begin 2 week induction, including things such as manual handling, health and safety, shadowing etc.
