These are exciting posts based in the Apprenticeships Unit – one of the first of its kind in a university. The aim of the Apprenticeships Unit is to promote and develop Degree Apprenticeships across the University. You will be part of a growing, highly motivated, proactive team engaging with a wide range of employers, learners and with academic colleagues from across the University to recruit to our growing portfolio of programmes, support learners and maintain strong employer relationships in this rapidly developing field.
Conduct reviews with apprentices and their line managers both in person in the workplace and on-line to build productive relationships with both apprentice and employer and to identify any emerging issues at an early stage and provide interventions where required.
Provide the first point of contact for both apprentices and for managers and mentors in the workplace keeping them informed of learner progress.
Coach the learners in developing the skills and behaviours in the Apprenticeship standard and the employer and evidence in project work, assignments or via the e-portfolio.
Lead workshops in academic skills, support and prepare the apprentice for the End Point Assessment.
Provide ongoing pastoral support to apprentices as their Personal Tutor, referring to Student Services where necessary.
Liaise with academic teams and advise on projects and assignments.
Represent the University in the workplace and provide information, advice and guidance.
You should have experience of working with students, apprentice or trainees.
Developing positive and successful relationships with employers.
